The Challenge
The original vented cylinder (stored in the loft) was corroding and giving cold water mixing, with poor pressure throughout. The loft location was difficult to access and the customer wanted the new cylinder relocated to an airing cupboard to free up loft space for insulation.
Our Solution
We relocated the cylinder from the loft to a first-floor airing cupboard, upgrading from a vented to an unvented system. This required a new cold water mains supply, pressure relief valve, and expansion vessel. The Megaflo 210L gives the property the full benefit of mains water pressure.
The Outcome
All three bathrooms now have excellent mains-pressure hot water simultaneously. The family no longer experiences pressure drops when two showers run at once. Relocating the cylinder also freed up loft space, allowing the customer to improve loft insulation — further reducing heating costs.
