The Challenge
The property had a split roof with sections at different orientations. The customer wanted maximum output but also needed to work around a chimney stack and a Velux window on the south-facing slope.
Our Solution
We designed a split array — 10 panels on the south slope and 4 on the south-west slope — using micro-inverters to allow each panel to perform independently regardless of partial shading. The 9.5 kWh Foxstar battery captures surplus generation for evening use.
The Outcome
The system generates an estimated 4,900 kWh per year, slightly above average thanks to Cornwall's higher solar irradiance. With the battery, the household uses approximately 82% of their own solar generation. Annual savings are estimated at over £1,100.
System Installed
14 × JA Solar 380W panels, SolarEdge HD-Wave inverter, 9.5 kWh Foxstar battery
