Air Source Heat Pump Installation in St Dennis

St Dennis is one of the most characteristically clay country villages in Cornwall — at one time, 25% of the male working population was directly employed in china clay extraction. The village sits on an isolated ridge surrounded by worked-out clay pits and the dramatic white spoil tips that define the landscape. St Dennis Church occupies an Iron Age hillfort, and the whole community has been designated an 'island settlement' by planners, reflecting its unique geographic isolation within the clay working area. Recent geological surveys have identified significant lithium deposits at nearby Trelavour Downs, positioning St Dennis at the frontier of Cornwall's next mining era. Like all clay villages, St Dennis is confirmed as off the mains gas grid. Heating costs are a genuine hardship for many residents, and both the £7,500 BUS grant and the HEAT Cornwall scheme (for households under £30,000 annual income) are directly applicable. CCS Heating & Renewables is 5 miles from St Dennis and can reach the village quickly via the B3279.

Why St Dennis homeowners choose air source heat pump installation

St Dennis sits 18 miles from our base, serves around 2,000 residents, with around 82% of homes off the mains gas grid — one of the strongest signals for heat pump suitability. A typical 8–12kW system in St Dennis costs £4,500–£8,500 after the £7,500 BUS grant (£1,500 less with the £9,000 off-gas uplift) and cuts heating running costs by 40–60% versus oil or LPG.

Property types we install in

Victorian clay workers' cottages, granite terraces, post-war council houses, inter-war bungalows

• Solid-wall stone & granite properties: typically need 2–4 radiator upsizes and benefit from 9–12kW units.
• Inter-war semis & bungalows: usually 8–10kW with minimal fabric work required.
• Off-grid oil or LPG homes: the strongest economic case — running cost drops 40–60% after switching.
